i’m going to miss you, foie.

hamachi tostada, herbs, fish sauce vinaigrette, peanut ($15)

melted petit basque, chorizo, grilled bread ($12)

soft shell crab, creamy lemon vinaigrette ($24)

pig ear, chili, lime, fried egg ($12)

poutine, oxtail gravy, cheddar ($18)

foie gras, biscuit, maple sausage gravy ($24)

balsamic pork ribs, delicata squash, arugula, pecan ($19)

flat iron, sunchoke hash, truffle parmesan fondue ($28)

foie gras loco moco, quail egg, spam, hamburger ($35)

tres leches, dulce de leche ($7)

Animal is one of those few places that makes me clap when my order arrives. My enthusiasm gets a bit embarrassing at times.

My favorite dish there of all time is the Foie Gras Maple Biscuit — one bite will seriously change your life.

Too bad for those who have yet to try it because come July 1, foie gras (fatty duck or goose liver) will be illegal in California.

Major sigh!
