The Saguaro, Palm Springs.

Because I think I’ve developed a slight addiction to mini getaways, I spent this past weekend at The Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs. Formerly a Holiday Inn, The Saguaro is “hip” with its LGBT…Q(?)-pride worthy walls. I use the word “hip” in parenthesis because what the hotel lacks in taste, it makes up for in major kitsch, which isn’t a bad thing!  I must sound like an annoying whining yelper.

The restaurant downstairs Tintos by Iron Chef Jose Garces was so delicious. I recommend just about every cocktail and dish on the menu. My favorites were the the duck and lamb pinxtos (pronounced pinchos) — no surprise there; add duck confit or lamb on top of anything and I’ll be into it.

On one of my last trips we stopped by there for drinks, it was dark so we didn’t get a good view of the grounds, but I wasn’t that impressed with our cocktails. My favorite PS drink is still the “Hello Nancy” at Birba :)

no way? i had some martini called la bruja and a blood orange mojito and it was awesome. the hotel has been getting mixed reviews allover though, so they were probably sorting stuff out. u should give another try! iron chefs dont typically disappoint
